The workshop started at 10:30 am, under the management of Prof. Dr. Tarek Saad Abdel Salam, where he began by welcoming the attendees from the various parties concerned with the project, including energy directors at Egyptian universities, representatives of the German Development and Reconstruction Bank, and the consulting company (GOPA-Infra). Representatives of the Ministries of Electricity and Energy, International Cooperation, the Central Bank of Egypt, the Technical Committee and the Steering Committee of the project. The workshop was also attended by representatives of the Accounting Unit and the Contracting Unit of the Supreme Council of Universities

His Excellency also welcomed representatives of MAS Engineering and Trading Company and Integral Rise Consulting Company to attend the workshop.

Prof. Dr. Tarek Saad Abdel Salam briefed the attendees on the project works that have been implemented under the supervision of the German Development and Reconstruction Bank (KfW) during the previous period. His Excellency invited Eng. Yomna Metwally, representative of MAS Engineering and Trade Company, to give a presentation on the implementation and completion of the works assigned to the company by the project unit, which is the supply and installation of energy-saving smart meters in (18) universities with which protocols have been signed to implement the project works.

Eng. Yomna Metwally presented all the works related to the supply, installation, operation and testing of the meters and the completion of their implementation in (18) universities. Eng. Yomna Metwally reviewed the positives and negatives that the company faced during the implementation of the works assigned to it.

Professor Dr. Tarek Saad Abdel Salam briefed the attendees. Regarding the ongoing works for the second phase of the project implementation tender for “Energy Auditors and Engineering Services”, His Excellency invited Dr. Ahmed Wafiq, owner of Integral Rise Engineering Consulting Company, and Engineer Salma Al-Karimi to shed light on the activities of the future work plan and the requirements for implementing the works of this phase.

Then His Excellency invited the representatives of the consulting company to shed light on the previously implemented works (the first phase of the project) and the future works to implement the project works. Eng. Georgios Markogiannakis, Dr. Hany El Ghazaly, and Dr. Khaled El-Farra, representatives of GOPA-Infra Consulting Company, presented the project works according to the project work plan, and they directed Integral Rise Company towards the work requirements in the second phase of the project.

Fruitful discussions were held between the energy managers and their representatives, some of the invited guests, representatives of the consulting company GOPA-Infra, and the Project Implementation Unit, which resulted in the smooth implementation of the project works.

The workshop ended at 4:00 pm with thanks to all attendees for their participation in the event.
